Fostering Personal Development and Social Progress-- A Part Time Four Level Course

Student Participants:

“Few days after returning from Panchgani my mom said that it seems you have   learnt something from the Academy”.

“I have become less short tempered and this has helped me listen and consult with others.”

“My behaviour has changed a lot. Now I try to express myself and show my qualities. I also try and find good qualities in others. During the NSS camp I interacted with different groups to promote unity among group members. My mom said where have you learnt all this from?”

“I began obeying my mother. Secondly I learnt the importance of time and how each activity of life is important. My use of language has also improved. Now I accept my mistakes and act with confidence. I have also become socially more responsible.”

“I had no confidence to speak. Before I had no plans in life but now I have a great social vision. Among everything my greatest change has been honesty.”

“I was asked to play a role in the Happy Hippo Show. This was my first role and I got selected for State level competition and even got a gold medal. This is one of my talents and I discovered it during the Academy’s Programme”.

“I have developed a lot of self confidence”.

“Everyone at home has felt I have become a peaceful person.”

“ My friend started smoking and I have tried to help him in quitting it. .. I have (now) convinced him to join a gym and stay fit.”

“I used to do a lot of ‘dadagiri’ before, but now my attitude has changed so much.”

“I spoke to villagers about gender equality.”

Teacher participants:

“When we heard on the first day that there were no lectures in this workshop we became so glad as we embarked to learn cooperative learning and interactive methods…we were never tired”. ( A teacher participant)

“In the training organized at Bahá'í Academy we always get new heights and vision of life. As teachers whatever we learn we can give back to the society by inspiring the students to learn, practice and carry forward for qualitative improvement of the society”. (A teacher participant)

At the end of an orientation workshop a teacher participant said "I feel changed!"
