Connection with NAAC Criteria

The “Education in Universal Human Values” Programme is closely related to the criteria for assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)
www.naac-india.com

The NAAC Assessment Criteria are:
1. Curricular Aspects
2. Teaching-Learning and Evaluation
3. Research, Consultancy and Extension
4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources
5. Student Support and Progression
6. Organization and Management
7. Healthy Practices

“Education in Universal Human Values” has four connections with the NAAC criteria. They are:

1. Human Value Education Courses (Criterion # 5)
2. Innovation in Teaching/Learning Methodology (Criterion#2)
3. Extension Activity to the Society (Criterion #3)
4. Institutional Collaboration (Criterion #5)

In Feb. 2004, NAAC circulated five value-based criteria for  re-accreditation. They are:

1. Relating to National Development
2. Fostering Global Competence Among Students
3. Inculcating the Value System
5. Promoting the Use of Technology
5. Quest For Excellence

These values would be strongly embedded in the criteria for assessment and re-accreditation. “Education in Universal Human Values” relates to all the five criteria
for re-accreditation.

"Human resource development is a crucial requirement not only to build up technical knowledge and capabilities, but also to create new values to help individuals and nations cope with rapidly changing social, environmental, and development realities" (World Commission on Environment and Development, 1987, Our Common Future,p.11)
