National Seminar on Ethics in Higher Education for Professional Development of Teachers: 22 to 24 Feb. 2019

The Bahá’í Academy is pleased to announce that in collaboration with the FDC (Under PMMMNMTT), UGC-HRDC of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, it is organizing  a “National Seminar on Ethics in Higher Education for Professional Development of Teachers” from 22 to 24 Feb. 2019 at the Bahá’í Academy, Panchgani. 

In the past four years the Baha’i Academy organized two National Conferences and one International Conference and a Symposium on Universal Human Values with remarkable success. This is the first time that a National Seminar on this important theme of “Ethics in Higher Education for Professional Development of Teachers” is being organized and sponsored by the FDC (Under PMMMNMTT), UGC-HRDC of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, in Collaboration with the Bahá’í Academy, for Institutions of Higher Learning.              

This is an opportunity for the teachers and the Research Scholars to present papers and share their thoughts with their co-workers from various disciplines. Moreover they will also interact with eminent experts from various Universities. 

Participants will be awarded the Seminar Certificate by the organizers that will add credible points to their academic achievements. The papers presented at the Seminar will be published in the Seminar Souvenir having ISSN (International Standard Serial Number). 

The sub-themes of the Seminar are as follows: 

1. Case Studies:

a. How are the University Objectives, in relation to Value Education (Objectives Number 2,3,4,5,7,12,13, 16 and 17) as stated in Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, being fulfilled by the institutions of Higher Learning in the State?

b. How are the University Objectives, in relation to Value Education as stated in the Public Universities Acts of other States, being fulfilled by the institutions of Higher Learning in other States?

c. The impacts of value education and ethical training for institutions of higher learning. 

2. Comparative Studies:

A comparison of the University Objectives in relation to Value Education as stated in the Public Universities Acts of various States of India. 

3. Prevailing Issues:

Most widespread ethical issues in institutions of higher-learning and the manner in which they are being/have been handled/neglected

a. From the perspective of students

b. From the perspective of teachers

c. From the perspective of employees 

d. From the perspective of the management

e. From the perspective of the families of students and their communities

- Financial unethical practices

- Values and attitudes

- Irresponsibility/lack of commitment
